Hey Guys and Dolls by James Stone

Hey Guys and Dolls,

It’s been a while and for that I truly apologize. I have been real busy lately (you know with graduating and all, YAY ME!) and just haven’t been able to contribute as much as I would have liked. First let me send out a sincere congratulations to the class of 2012. Great job to all and especially to the Tuesday/Wednesday Cohort that started with me in the Fall of 2009. (What? I can play favorites. It’s my blog and I’ll do what I want to. J) That cohort was filled with such a great group of people that I have no doubt will be future community leaders, respected business associates, and generally just good people. Of course just about everyone except me is already that so it’s probably a pretty safe bet.

What to do now? Now that we are out and done, where do we go now? (Somewhere I know at least one of you just got the Guns N Roses Sweet Child of Mine stuck in your head. Mission Accomplished.) Onward and Upward. It’s really the only direction that we can go. We have been given invaluable tools, an unbelievable network (as long as we use it, hint hint: the website!!!!) and the confidence to take both with us and be able to succeed in life and the workplace. It would seem negligent of me not to take the time to point out some of the resources that we have for you on this lovely website.

We have job postings that are password protected. These postings are straight from the source people! Where else could you find leads like this??? If you know of a job, please submit it to Andrea so that we can post it. I also recommend anyone that is looking for a job to communicate this through to the website/alumni association as that is one of our primary reasons for existence.

We also have available recommended readings suggested by your fellow alumni. Again, you have something to suggest, please submit it so that we can post it. This is OUR website and WE want to make it the best website we can right? Right!

I almost forgot about the Calender. Want to find out when the next alumni event is? ITS ON THE CALENDAR. (Man we really did think of everything.)

And last but not least, we have blogs. Hopefully entertaining, sometimes educational, this is a great forum for us to communicate with each other and hear from our respective industries or just gain insight from a different perspective. While we are on the subject, I will always accept volunteers that would like to tell their story. Don’t know what to write about? No big deal. Write whatever you want. Write about your current situation. Adjusting to life after school. A memorable time/experience in school. You name it. It is entirely up to you. Please contact me if you are interested and I will schedule you in my calendar. Hope all is well with everyone and don’t be a stranger.
